The roman summer has just begun and there are a lot of occasions to see beautiful exhibitions actually on display until September 2015 and in next months.

The photographic masterpieces of Steve McCurry, the most famous National Geographic photographer, exhibited in Rome at the Teatro 1 of Cinecittà until September 20, 2015.
150 stunning photographs of the great American photographer are on display from the beginning of his professional career in the ’80s when with his camera captured unique and meaningful
images of India until he went to Afghanistan where he was one of the first witnesses of the war that had just broken out.
Here he snapped one of his most famous photographs, Sharbat Gula, the Afghan girl at Nasir Bagh refugee camp near Peshawar.
The exhibition shows also more than fifty new works never published before.

The exhibition is open daily at the Teatro 1 of Cinecitta ( Via Tuscolana 1055, Rome ) , except Tuesday, from 9:30am to 7pm and the standard ticket price is Euro 12.00, also sold online on Ticketone.


David La Chapelle, after “The Deluge” another great American artist and photographer comes back, after more than fifteen year, at Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Via Nazionale 194 until 13 September with one of the most important and exhaustive exhibitions of his works.
In fact there are more than 100 works on view, some presented for first time in a museum including many large-scale works.
LaChapelle has been influenced from Roman art, fact that is more evident in the realization of “The Deluge”, modeled after Michelangelo’s impressive fresco in the Sistine Chapel, in which the
artist returns to conceiving works with the unique purpose to exhibit in art galleries and in museums.
The exhibition also includes a selection of some of the most renowned and loved photos that made hiim famous, realized during the decade between 1995 and 2005.
David LaChapelle is today one of the most famous and appreciated photographer in the world.

Cubist Cubism at the Vittoriano in Rome From March 8th

The exhibition will display more than 200 works including oil paintings, drawings, sculptures, videos, objects of design, costumes and documents that illustrate the breaking strength of the movement created by Picasso and Braque in France between 1907 and 1914, capable of influence the culture of an era.
This revolutionary movement has been able to transform not only painting but also architecture, literature, theater, music, cinema, design, decor, fashion.
The exhibition, then, in addition to works of cubist artists known and unknown, even the expression of Cubism in its various facets.

Joan Miro’ Exhibition in Rome 2012

miròA new major exhibition in the Sale of Bramante is dedicated to Miro’, that from 16th March to 10th June 2012 will color the capital with splendid works of the painter.
Consisting of 80 works of the Catalan painter, some of which are true previews, because they have never been hosted in Italy.

A very happy and fruitful period for the artist, during which he realizes some of his most famous works, taking their inspiration from nature and vitality that surrounds him in Majorca.

Guggenheim in RomeThe exhibition of “Guggenheim” documents the great artistic moments lived in the United States of America after the Second World War.

The exhibition represents the American avant-garde that existed between 1945 and 1980, which was the period of the great transformations in the history of the United States.
In those years the history of the United States of America was characterized by economic prosperity and international conflicts, as well as important cultural advances.
The American art was an extraordinary development of the aesthetic practices such as Pop Art and meditations on the meaning of the image, the conceptual art of the sixties, the aesthetics of Minimalism, Photorealism of the iconography of the seventies .
The exhibition highlights the crucial era in American art, revealing the role played by the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in shaping these developments due to the continued support offered to emerging artists.

The first section is devoted to abstract expressionism, with the names of Franz Kline, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, Adolph Gottlieb, Clyfford Still, Jackson Pollock (with six paintings rarely seen in international exhibitions), Frank Stella, Ellsworth Kelly and Kenneth Noland.
Among all these there is strong evidence in de Kooning with his broken and strong colors.

The second section is devoted to Pop Art with works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Alaes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist and Mel Ramos, a particular emphasis is given to the gods Rauschenberg’s monumental painting “Barge” of 1962-63

The third section is devoted to Minimalism, Conceptual and post-minimalism with the work of Robert Morris, Dan Flavin, Carl Andre, Donald Judd, Lawrence Weiner many of whom come from the prestigious collection of Italian Panza di Biumo.

The last section is devoted to the “Photojournalism” grouping of hyper painters representing a cultural continuity with pop artists.
